Dear Visitor,
Welcome to the website of the Hungarian Embassy in Oslo.
It is my honour, after personally presenting my credentials to His Majesty King Harald V in September 2025, to represent my home country, Hungary, in Norway.
In addition to being the Head of Mission in the Kingdom of Norway, my mandate extends to Iceland as well. It is therefore my keen intention to enrich the bilateral relations in both countries with the appropriate impulses at a steady pace.
I herewith would also like to pay tribute to all Norwegian and Icelandic companies that contribute to the development of our economy through their presence in Hungary, and I warmly welcome the activities of Hungarian companies operating in both countries. Moreover, I attach particular importance to further deepening our external economic relations and am of the strong conviction here that there are unchartered opportunities in numerous areas between our nations in getting the ties closer together. During my term as an ambassador, I aim to identify these opportunities and incorporate them into the network that connects us Hungarians with our Northern allies.
I am delighted to see the increasing interest in the diverse touristic and leisure activities, the outstanding gastronomy as well as the top quality international higher education of Hungary in both Norway and Iceland. This interest creates a valuable platform to strengthen the network between our citizens on a daily basis. It is also gratifying that more and more of our Hungarian compatriots discover both Norway and Iceland for themselves and take advantage of the wide and rich offerings of the two countries.
The Hungarian diaspora living in both Norway and Iceland serves as a close and valuable link between our nations. Our compatriots not only represent the rich traditions and cultural heritage in the most authentic way that we are justifiably proud of, but also provide for proper interaction between our peoples.
As Ambassador, I am happy to work with all members and organizations of the Hungarian diaspora, and I recommend the Embassy, our events and our joint projects as opportunities to meet, gather and get into a dialogue.
I firmly believe that our alliance with the Kingdom of Norway and Iceland, as well as our shared principles provide a solid foundation for further strengthening the ties between our sovereign nations. I remain grateful to everyone for their contribution to this joint effort.

Hungarian Council of Europe Day 2023 „Opportunities for political participation of national minority youth”
On May 9, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary along with the European Youth Centre in Budapest (Council of Europe) is hosting a conference on “Opportunities for political participation of national minority youth”. The event will also mark the Council of Europe Day in Hungary this year.
